Air travel can be affected by weather conditions, operational issues, political events or other situations that are outside anyone’s control. When these situations occur, airlines may change routes, adjust schedules or cancel flights. Metair Globe works to minimize disruptions, but some situations cannot be prevented.
When an Airline Makes a Major Change
A major change is any significant adjustment the airline makes before your departure. This can include changes in routing, schedule or connection times that affect your confirmed trip.
When such a change happens, we inform you as soon as the airline notifies us. Based on availability and airline approval, we may offer you the following options:
- Accept the updated travel arrangements.
- Choose an alternate flight of a similar standard and budget. This will be treated as a new booking. We will assist you with any refund or credit provided for your original booking if the airline allows it.
- Request a refund if the airline permits one for the affected flight.
All refunds or compensations depend fully on the rules and decisions of the airline. Metair Globe cannot process any refund unless the fare rules allow it.
When a Cancellation or Change Is Outside Airline Control
If the airline cancels or changes your flight due to conditions beyond their control, such as severe weather or government restrictions, airlines generally do not offer compensation. In such cases, the options available depend entirely on the airline policies.
Metair Globe can speak to the airline on your behalf and request reimbursement or a waiver, but we cannot guarantee approval.
When a Change Occurs Due to Customer Error
If a change or cancellation happens because the traveler did not meet booking requirements, failed to pay on time or provided incorrect information, we cannot assist with refunds or compensation.
Additional Important Information
- Most flight tickets and travel packages are non refundable unless the fare rules clearly state otherwise.
- Cancellation requests must be made by phone with our customer support team.
- After submitting a cancellation request, you will receive an email acknowledgment. This email only confirms that we received your request. It does not mean your booking is eligible for a refund.
- Refunds are processed only if the fare rules permit cancellation. We follow airline guidelines to request waivers when possible.
- Refund processing time is normally between 4 to 6 business weeks. This time frame depends on the airline and payment provider.
